Why I built Trunkchat

Hi, I'm Rob. I live in the Netherlands and work as a freelance IT consultant. I started with bonsai seven years ago.

In those seven years I have killed a lot of trees, and almost never through bad technique. I simply forgot them. I have ADD and a busy schedule, and a bonsai is very forgiving right up until the week it isn't. A missed watering in a warm spell, a wire left on a season too long, a repot I kept putting off: each time I only noticed when it was too late.

Notes on my phone and calendar reminders didn't stick, because they knew nothing about the tree. So I built Trunkchat: a journal that remembers what I did to each tree and when, and tells me what is probably due next, based on the species, the pot and the weather where I live.
